Single Card Mail Day:2023 Mosaic Scripts Tom Coughlin

I don't think there are enough coaching cards in the hobby. I know some will shrug at that, but I know not all of you will.

I would have enjoyed having owned a coach card from every coach who had coached the Giants. Would have made for a fun collection. I do though have an autograph photo from the last three, so I guess that's something.

Occasionally Panini would do some coach cards in their products, mainly Contenders. Last year they did do one with current Giants coach Brian Daboll but the prices went haywire and not something I could afford.

However, I found out this year they included legendary coach Tom Coughlin on their Mosaic checklist.

I had to have it.

I was a fan of Toms even before he became the Giants head coach. I used to like watching the Jaguars and Panthers in the 90's and Tom was a heck of a coach for the Jags leading them to 4 playoff appearances and 2 AFC Championships including a big upset run in 1996 beating the heavily favored Bills and Broncos in only the teams second season of existence.

Tom was fired by the Jaguars after the 2002 season and hired by the Giants in 2004 after taking a year off. He led the Giants to 5 playoff appearances and two Super Bowls and was fired by the Giants after the 2015 season. I kind of wished he had stayed until he was ready to leave.

I am happy to add this autograph to my collection and wished more companies would add coaches to at least one product. Maybe even add the whole team's roster, that would be nice as well. Have it be like a 800-card base set. I would be all over that and I know some of you would be to.

Single Card Mail Day: 2012 Fleer Retro Metal Blue PMG

There is just something so catchy with Upper Deck's version of the Precious Metal Gem that it makes me happy.

Not as happy as owning an original one, but still pretty happy.

One of the cards I have been chasing down the most from Upper Deck's PMG's other than the Marvel ones, is the blue PMG of Ruben Randle from the 2012 Fleer Retro product, Randle's rookie year.

It has eluded me multiple times, but finally, finally, it landed into my hands.

Isn't it pretty???!

It's also numbered to 50.

So far, I have the red and now the blue PMG of Rueben. I am still in need of the Green. Not sure if there is another after that or not. I see two on eBay and the cheapest being $149. Way out of my range.

At least I have the two I wanted most, and this card will add to my already huge lead of Randle on TCDB.

Eli Countdown To 1K: 962,963,964,965,966,967,968,969,970,971,972,973

Yes, that is a very long title to today's post but there has been a lot of Eli Manning movement recently as I continue to crawl towards 1,000.

My goal is to complete this by the end of the year, but I am not sure I will get there.

Before getting on with showing off the latest adds, I will mention if you are counting these cards as you go along, that four card pictures are missing. Where they went, I will never know. So, I will start off the countdown with those four missing ones and go from there.

Let's go! 962,963,964,965
966 is numbered to 50!

967 you can't see it but this is a Purple Lazer.

968: Base are cards too!!

969: Another new one to the rainbow, this is a blue /199

970: Prizm parallel. Looks great as a Giants fan.

971
972: The start of something new with this years Prestige.....

973:And my latest add thanks to a trade on Twitter!

This is my official number of Eli's as of today. I have 18 days left to get 27 Eli's to reach my year end goal. Can I get there? We will see.

If any of you have any Eli Manning's reading this today, please let me know by dropping me an email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Eli Countdown To 1K: 960,961 (A BIG ONE INCLUDED)

I don't want to waste any time with today's Eli Manning countdown because today's included a banger. A card I have dreamed about for quite some time.

Ladies and gentleman, 19 years later....I finally own...

a 2004 Topps Chrome Eli Manning!!!!! Eli number 960. Anybody who has followed me for quite some time knows this card has been one I have been chasing for years. I couldn't ever afford one, nobody seemed to ever have one for trade and it just felt this card was eluding me.

Not anymore!! Thanks to @CardsThings on Twitter for helping me finally land this in our trade.

Also included in our trade,
961:2004 Bowman 1st Edition

And one more card,

2013 Prizm Purple Cracked Ice Victor Cruz. A new Cruz to help me extend my big lead already on TCDB.

It was a quick, easy and fun trade and I suggest if you are ever looking for someone easy to deal with, check out @CardsThings.

I can't explain my excitement to be able to hold this card in person. My goal was to find a way to make this card #1,000 but it came before then. I will have to find another card to celebrate the big milestone when the time comes.

More Eli's coming up, and no before you ask, I haven't gotten to 1,000 yet.

Eli's Prizm Draft Chase

With the bye week today, there isn't any Big Blue football to watch but plenty of Giants cards to sort.

While I was sorting my Eli Manning Prizm draft rainbow for the 2023 product, I thought I would show a picture of my chase so far. And no, none of these are new to my Eli Manning Countdown.

They look much nicer in person than what my picture can capture.

Here is what I have so far and what I need that's remaining.
Gold Ice, Green, Purple Wave, Red Ice, Ruby Wave, Silver, Snakeskin, White Sparkle, Red /299Blue Wave /249, Blue /199, Purple Ice /149, Red Finite /125, Blue Ice /99, Blue Finite /89, Purple /75, Gold Flash /49, Orange Pulsar /49, Red Flash /49, Orange Finite /39, Green Pulsar /25, Mojo /25, Gold Shimmer /15, Neon Pink Pulsar /15, Gold /10, Green Shimmer /8, Black Gold /5, Black Finite 1/1, Black Shimmer 1/1, Gold Vinyl 1/1.

With three 1/1's, I don't plan on chasing it all.

But, if cheap enough, I may add the others.

Good luck to your team today if they are playing and if they aren't the Eagles, Cowboys or Commanders ;)

I have to wait until next Monday night.
