Eli Countdown To 1.5K: 1024, 1025, 1026,1027, 1028

Well, it appears I haven't done an Eli Manning update on here in a while, so we are jumping ahead a little on my countdown. However, I can tell you today that this number is completely up to date on where I am at currently.

1024: 2023 Prestige Base

1025:2023 Prestige Living Legends

1026: 2023 Prestige Xtra Points Pink /25. This adds to my rainbow chase but I can't tell the difference between the base parallel and the xtra points parallel. What makes it harder is the fact they have the same numbering!! So I am calling this Xtra points one. It's a pretty one is all I can say.

 

1027:2023 Absolute Championship Fabric. Super Bowl relics and Eli Manning are must haves!

 

1028: 2023 Absolute Canton Absolutes. He's heading to the Hall Of Fame, no argument over it. This is a nice two-color patch.

We are creeping closer to 1100. Hopefully I can move this along a little faster as time goes on. Really hard to find anyone trading Eli.

Single Card Mail Day:2023 Panini Gridiron Greats Autograph Dan Reeves

I have been very pleased with Panini cards recently as they have started to add more players to their roster and now even coaches. I am not sure if they have had these all along and maybe sitting on shelves for dust collecting or what but they are starting to add a lot of variety to their products.

The biggest assumption is that it's a sticker dump as they will soon be losing their NFL license.

Which I am okay with. That so far has meant more Rodney Hampton autographs and NY Giants coaches autographs.

My latest add is this one.

Dan Reeves was the NY Giants head coach from 1993-1996. Other than his first couple of seasons as a Giants coach, Reeves didn't succeed much with the Gmen. Overall though, he had a pretty successful coaching career and recently just passed away in 2022 at the age of 77.

I was able to acquire this thanks to a Twitter trade with @JasonSowinski. Now I have added three NY Giants coach autograph cards in the past year. I will post all of the Giants coach autograph cards when I get the chance to.

Single Card Mail Day:2023 Absolute Autograph Deonte Banks

 

When you can get an 1st picks autograph and a soon-to-be top corner in the league's autograph for $1.25, why wouldn't you?

So it's what I did.

His autograph his certainly lacking but what rookie autograph isn't? If you had to sign like a million cards for multiple companies, I can't blame him for just wanting to go and get it all done. Though us as collectors and fans suffer from it.

This card also marks my first Deonte Banks autograph in a Giants uniform, my previous one came from a college product.

Rodney's Cardboard:1992 Wild Card 1000 Stripe

It's Sunday and last week I missed out on posting a new Rodney Hampton card I know all of you guys were waiting on.

So here we go. Today isn't an autograph card. It's not a 1/1. It is however rare. 

When it comes to chasing rainbows in the hobby, one of the original rainbows to chase was the Wild Card Stripes. There were multiple levels of rarity and parallels. The higher the number, the more rare and harder to find the parallel especially the 1000 Stripes. 

The parallels came as 5,10,20,50,100 and 1000. I can't remember off the top of my head how many of the Rodney's I have from the chase. Each stripe had it's own color as well.

Today's card is the 1000 Stripe which color is Gold which is why the foil is gold.

 

There was no differences with the card backs when it came to these.

I acquired this one thanks to my buddy Wes who chased it down and surprised me at Christmas time.
