Remember in the 80's and 90's that annoying time of night when you would be watching TV, then fell asleep only to be awaken to a loud beep followed by scratchy noises because the channel was signing off?

Well, Topps said, let's turn that into a card.

And let's make it a case-hit.

My latest Eli Manning add has captured those memories all over again.

This tough-to-pull insert series in Topps Resurgence captures retired players and the years they played.

Eli Manning was a lifetime Giant from 2004-2019 and unlike Philip Rivers, he stayed out of the game and should be in next year's Hall Of Fame or the voters are wrong.

They were already wrong not allowing him in as a first ballot.

Pretty happy with this one and others I have posting soon.

Hope everyone has a great and safe New Years Eve!

Single Card Mail Day:2024 Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket Autograph Darius Muasau

We are back with a third post in as many days!

Right now it's just playing catch up from summer additions to the collection.

Today's autograph is another one I needed for my PC as I once again try to add one of every Giants player, just as a reminder.

Darius Muasau has had a lot of opportunities lately with all of the injuries and has racked up some tackles.

Has he made a huge impact? Not really. But, maybe the more time on the field will get more out of him for next year.

I think he should also work on his autograph in the offseason as well.....

Single Card Mail Day: 2024 Score It's Good Autograph Amani Toomer

It's Good!

Yes, this mail day was a good one.

It has also been awhile since I last added an Amani Toomer autograph or any Amani Toomer in general.

I prefer to stick to 90's cards when I collect Amani, but adding a cool new autograph isn't always bad either.

This card isn't numbered, but I like the design and sparkle to it.

I did recently just add another Toomer autograph I will post at some point.

This Toomer doesn't move me up very far on Trading Card Database standings as opposed to my standings with other player collections, but, maybe I should focus on adding a few more of him to put myself up there.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Panini National Treasures Gladiators /50

It's been awhile since I have posted on here, but, now that I have some free time I am back and will hopefully be able to post a few on here.

Of course the way the Giants have played this year I should have spent my time blogging instead of watching that mess every Sunday. But, being a fan can cause pain and I have experienced more than my share from them this year.

But, at least I have my Rodney's.
This Rodney is from 2024 National Treasures. My checklist is a little off on this one so I am not sure if there are other parallels from this subset in the set or not. Rodney also has autographs in the set that I don't have many of. It would be an expensive chase.

I guess the good thing about the last three years of collecting is the amount of Rodney out in the card world, the only downfall, the amount of Rodney out there in the card world. So many I have missed out on already because there are more Rodney than I have finances for.

I guess for now I will just have to sit back and hope some pop up again.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday and hopefully your team is playing better than mine.

YOU'RE FIRED!

We finally heard the news most fans have been waiting for the last two years, NY Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll is fired.

It was time.

All of us could see it coming. When you blow multiple double digit leads in games where coaching shouldn't have, you lose your job.

Also starting out 2-8 multiple years in a row and being on the hot seat for three years now....it's time.

I appreciate the run of 2022 Coach Daboll and the playoff win, but outside of that, it's been torture.

I am hoping this time that the NY Giants can right the ship with an experienced coach. They have the players in place, just need a coach to lead them.

It will be interesting to see how this weekends game goes against the Packers with interim coach Mike Kafka a former QB in the league. I am still rooting them on and would love to see a win.

Cool Team Parallels

They don't make them too often, but when they do, I try to at least grab one.

What am I talking about, I am talking about team parallels.

Last year's Phoenix product included them as one of the parallels, one of many, to chase.

The parallel features the NY Giants helmet in the background of the card.

I didn't know they existed until I saw another collector post about them and then I immediately had to look up the Giants to see. Most weren't too cheap, except this one of Theo Johnson. It was awhile ago I added this, but I believe it was under $3 which is up my spending alley.

These parallels are numbered to 399. I would also like to point out an actual card back photo. I miss the days when they did this.

I would love to get the complete team player run of these but may have to wait until a few others drop in a cheap range to do so, I am talking about you Malik Nabers.

In comments today, let's hear what you think about team parallels and cool photo card backs.

Have a magnificent Monday!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Select Gold /10

Here are some things that won't surprise you today.

It's Sunday.

The NY Giants stink.

And I am posting another cool Rodney Hampton card.

Any of that surprise you? I didn't think so.

So here I am back on here with a new Rodney Hampton post.

I didn't feel like Cards Over Coffee was still the right place to post Rodney Hamptons. Something didn't sit right with me posting them there after I have done it so long on here and on Sport Card Collectors blog.

Since I have given up on posting on Sport Card Collectors blog, I will post them here instead.

Today's card came from a RAK from a buddy of mine in Twitter who surprised me with a few different Rodney's I didn't have.

With so, so many Rodney's being pumped out by Topps and Panini the last three years, I haven't been able to keep up. That's both a good and bad thing. It means there is more to chase, but however, it means I won't be able to get it all. I have lost out on quite a few key ones already (insert crying emoji).

But, I can only do what I can only do and will just add what I can. At least I can share a beauty of a card like today's with you guys.

Let me know in comments your thoughts on today's Rodney and let's hear what else isn't surprising to you this Sunday.

I will be tuning into the Giants game today for some reason, but hey, you never know I guess (unless you are a Giants fan)

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Signature Class Preeminent Ink Autograph

IT'S FINALLY FOOTBALL SUNDAY!

LET'S GO!!

Today the NY Giants take on the Washington Commanders (I still don't care for the name change) at 1pm.

In both games they faced each other last year, the Giants played them tough but ended up losing in the end.

This time, without Daniel Jones, I hope they have a better chance. And they are overall healthier besides not most likely having their top offensive lineman. But, I say let him rest, may need him more later in the season.

I was trying to decide on an exciting Rodney to show off, but instead went basic.

This is a base autograph from the 2024 Topps Signature Class product called Preeminent Ink.

There are also plenty of parallels to chase as well. I do own a few, but not all of them.

Overall, not a bad looking card, but not too flashy either.

Well, hate to make it short, but I need to get some snacks ready for football Sunday.

Have a great day of football.

Go Giants!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Finest Red Geometric Autograph/5

One week from today my family may see my normally cheerful mood turn into one they may not want to be around.

It's almost football season and the NY Football Giants can turn my mood from Jekyl to Mr.Hyde pretty fast.

For now, I will celebrate the little victories such as my latest Rodney Hampton add which happens to be another 2024 Topps Finest Autograph.

This one though, is the rarest one I have to date being numbered to only 5. Its the lowest numbered one I have seen listed in this run yet so I made sure to own it just in case none pop up again.

Let me know what your expectations are for your NFL team today in comments!

Rodney's Cardboard: 2024 Topps Finest Gold Refractor Autograph/50

The NY Giants put on a good show for their fans this preseason, hopefully it will also translate to the regular season.

I guess we will see in two weeks.

In the meantime, I will keep sharing some new Rodney's.

And here is the latest.

This one is pretty similar to last week's,  except it doesn't have little gold squares and is instead just straight up gold.

Still a good looking card for not having logos.

Thoughts on your team's preseason or on this card welcomed in comments today!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Finest Gold Geometric Refractor Autograph

Another Sunday, another Rodney.

Today we are looking at a 2024 Topps Finest Gold Geometric refractor autograph.

These cards are numbered to 50.  There is a plain gold version numbered to 50 as well and I will be showing off that one next week.

This time I didn't mind that they did two gold ones unlike the blue ones. The gold versions have a regular and a "shaped" version so you can tell them apart. I am not sure why they didn't do that with the blue.

Anyways, before that rant goes on, hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Go Gmen!

Post #200: New Eli Mannings Added and Updated

I haven't had a lot of time for cards recently with life taking over, but I finally sat down and did a project I have been needing to get done.

I have finally updated my Eli Manning Trading Card Database count to celebrate the 200th post on this blog.

So, currently I have.....sorry you will have to check out the photos of my latest pickups first before I announce where I stand in the chase of Eli....

(a 1/1 plate I traded for on Twitter)

(TCDB doesn't list these anywhere so it doesn't count as apart of my number)

And the total I am at is...drumroll....1,171!

This puts me 323 away from taking the overall lead on TCDB. This goal was once close to 800 away. The last two years I have chipped away, closing the gap. I am also not sure if the top guy has been active on TCDB anymore. He may have even more that he hasn't added yet, but I guess that doesn't matter to me. I want that lead!

Eli always had a fourth quarter comeback in him, it's my turn now.

I just want to take a minute out to thank everyone who has read this blog. Without you, today's milestone wouldn't have happened. Thank you!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Finest Blue Geometic Autograph /99

Another week, another new Rodney for you to see!

This week's autograph showoff is from 2024 Topps Finest.

2024 Topps Finest is a tad frustrating as some of the parallels look similar. So, trying to tell the difference between a Blue Checkerboard and a Blue Geometric is going to need a scientific explanation by an actual scientist. They are also numbered the same!!

Why do they have to make two blue parallels similar? If you are going to need to do two blues for whatever reason, do a regular blue and then a funky one as well.

So, this is my guess, this a blue geometric autograph. If I am wrong and you know the difference, please let me know in comments.

There will be plenty of Rodney coming up, mostly from new products, but I did land a rare 90's one I have never seen pop up before and I can't wait to show it off.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Let me know your thoughts on these parallels in comments.

The 2025 Season Is Underway!

It may only be preseason, but, the NY Giants hit the football field and came out victorious with a 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills.

It was a great game with some great plays and made me pumped for the upcoming season.

The Giants started the game with some of its starters including QB Russell Wilson and RB Tyrone Tracy who ran the ball for 9 yards on 3 carries and caught two other balls for seven yards.

I recently picked up two Tracy autographs for my collection. The top one, despite the no-logo look from Leaf, is a cool snakeskin design while the second one from 2025 Score caught my attention because of the throwback jerseys.

I am hoping he can match the season he had last year, his rookie year, where he piled up over 1100 scrimmage yards.

Overall, I was happy with the team's overall performance today. The starting offense moved the ball, Jaxson Dart looks like the future, and the defense played fast and aggressive. I know it's just preseason, there is a long way to go, but the 2025 football season is underway!

The Blogger National 2025

The last three years I have posted a Blogger National for those of us who can't enjoy the experience of actually being at the The National Sport Collectors Convention. That way we can still connect with one another without spending the big bucks to do so. Though I would love to sit down, have a cup of coffee and talk cards with you.

I am right on time with posting this year's Blogger National, so I am hoping you all will participate in this blog bat-around.

What is the Blogger National? Well, it's a blog-bat-around where you just take one post (or multiple if you so choose) in the next few days and dedicate it to showing off your coolest cards or your most favorite cards or a recent mail day you hadn't posted yet using the blog post title, The Blogger National 2025.

I want you to try to find the cards that are show worthy to you. You know, the dazzling cards that would attract all of the people over to your table (blog).

For example, I am showing the other cards in my trade with @90sNicheFBcard. The other cards I showed off in a post HERE on Cards Over Coffee.

Come check out my NY Giants table,

Some really nice, a couple on-card autographs of  Super Bowl champion Victor Cruz. He will go down as one of my favorite WR's. If the injury bug hadn't hit him, he may have been a legend.

They don't make cards like they used to. I believe I have stated this before... many times. This includes autograph cards.

Numbered LT.

Yes, the amount of Prizm parallels is absurd, but the look cool so I am good with it.

Malik is about to ball out this year with an actual QB. He may have a season reminiscent to Odell if not better.

A couple nice die-cut shiny! Gray won't be a Giant much longer, but Banks has a chance still. He has struggled in camp so far, so hopefully he has time to turn it around.

If they do this jersey card again this year, obviously Abdul Carter would be on it. Hopefully Kayvon will do more this year. Will he ever be LT? Probably not. But, he can try to be like other Giant legends.

Tommy Devito was the man for a while in NY, now he is 4th on the depth chart and most likely will not make the team. Practice squad maybe or will some other team claim him. Time will tell. But, it was a fun ride while it was there.

I was a bit surprised when Sterling came out of retirement to play for Tampa Bay. I thought he would end his career as a Giant. It was great to see him in uniform again and play at a decent level, but he will always be a Giant to me.

If you thought this alone was a great trade, now, here comes the onslaught of Eli's.
This parallel is /199

I did have this one, but its sharp and team color, so I don't mind having two.

Eli on Eagles colors is okay here. Looks sharp and he always beat on them.

This...this card was my favorite of the entire trade. Super Bowl. Game Worn. Eli. Champions.

Thanks again for the trade Bryan!

I am hopeful many of you will join in on this. Usually my Blog-Bat-Arounds go nowhere but maybe this one will catch your attention. Last year was no to very little turnout but I am trying again!

And for those of you who read this and don't have a blog, feel free to post your cards on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Bluesky, YouTube,) and use the hashtag (and tag me if you want), #TheBloggerNational2025. I will be on the lookout for that hashtag on all social media platforms. Well, except TikTok. I haven't joined that at all yet and don't plan to.

Hope everyone has a great time with this, and you can leave your blog link in comments so I can read it as well!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Inception Red /75

Hello football fans! I am back with another NEW Rodney's Cardboard.

Today's Rodney has a funny story attached to it.

I had snagged this particular Rodney a couple of months ago and to my surprise, USPS lost it and it never arrived. So, I had to get a refund from the seller.

Recently, the seller re-listed the card and as soon as I saw it, I snagged it yet again.

It didn't take too long for the seller to realize that I was the one who bought it originally. He told me that it had been returned to him and that USPS messed up and told him that postage wasn't enough. He promised this time the error was fixed and that he was pretty confident I would get it.

And this time he was right, and I did.

With this one in hand, I only have a few more to go for the rainbow. The base (completely hard to find), Blue /10 and the 1/1.

So in comments today, let me know if you have ever had anything like this happen to you. Did the card you want get re-listed or completely lost? Let me know!
