Stained Glass Saquon

It's Monday! A fabulous Monday...for now.

Who knows how I will feel tonight. I may be screaming and yelling or smiling with tears.

The Gmen go all white tonight at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football and I am all for it. I am wondering if I should wear a white t-shirt at home tonight or if my superstition of not wearing my Saquon jersey like I did for the first two weeks will get to me.

Either way, I can't wait.

Speaking of Saquon, I pulled off a trade last week for a Case Hit of him with @SpartanKing1534.
These 2021 Mosaic Stained Glass inserts are not easy to find. I know I have never pulled one so when I saw @SpartanKing1534 tweet he had one of Saquon for trade or sell, I jumped in.

The deal went fast and we both got our mail days on Saturday.

Stained Glass isn't the coolest case hit pull I have seen, but isn't bad.

Thanks again for the trade @SpartanKing1534.

Thoughts on this card welcomed in comments.

I am hoping for a 3-0 start tonight, but not sure how I feel about tonight's game. Worried about the Giants offensive line vs Michah Parsons. We will see.

Eli's Cardboard:2022 Prestige Any Given Sunday

With it being football Sunday, it's time for a new Eli's Cardboard.

And it's also because there are no new Rodneys in recently. There is however, plenty of Eli.

Today the Gmen don't play as they have a Monday nighter against the Dallas Cowboys so I won't give any input on that game.

However, I have given plenty of input on Eli Manning and on Super Bowl 42 which is featured on today's card.

There are no Eli's that I grab sooner than ones that feature either Super Bowl 42 or Super Bowl 46. I have to have them.

Of course, that goes for all other Super Bowl Giants cards.

Panini included some new Eli cards in its 2022 Prestige product. So far, I have a couple of these and the base card. Many more to chase and show off.

Hope everyone has a Happy Football Sunday! Good luck to your teams! Unless they are the Eagles or Commanders.

Single Card Mail Day:2008 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor David Tyree

What can I say, I am addicted to showing off and adding Super Bowl cards from Super Bowls 42 and 46.

I have actually found myself liking one card in particular.

The 2008 Super Bowl 42 subset card of David Tyree shows off the same image we have seen over and over and over again.

But Topps Chrome just makes it look better. Especially when it's a team color refractor match.

Here is the back of the card.

I have actually made somewhat of a small run on these. I have the base, base refractor, bronze and now this one. I would love to add the Xfactor on eBay next.

Thoughts on my latest add and Topps Chrome refractors welcomed in comments.

2-0

Well....well...well.

For the first time in 6 years, the NY Giants are starting the season 2-0 with back-to-back close wins. These were games they normally would lose but with the new coaching staff have found ways to win.

Yesterday's 19-16 win over the Panthers had the similar look to their first game. Sloppy first half of offense that led to a stronger second half on offense. I am not sure what Coach Daboll says to them at halftime, but I hope it continues.

There weren't really any standout players other than kicker Graham Gano, who I don't have any cards of, so thought I would show off some recent Kadarius Toney cards.

These were tossed into a recent trade mail day I had.
2021 Chronicles Absolute

2021 Prizm Orange bubbles?

2021 Chronicles Gridiron Kings

2021 Prizm Rookie Variation

I do wish the Giants would get Toney more involved into the offense. I still feel he is being underutilized. Get the ball into his hands, give him a little space and some magic could happen.

Thoughts on the Giants start, Toney or today's cards welcomed in comments.

A Couple Of Dimes

Another successful trade was in the books with @tonyaces and I landed myself a couple more Daniel Jones to my collection.

Danny Dimes is another player, just like Toney, I have slowed down on adding a lot of cards of. I have a feeling that one or even both players won't have a future with the team. But, occasionally I will still take their cards. I just don't seek them.

First new add was a 2019 Panini Chronicles Studio rookie card parallel /199.

2020 Select Bronze Die Cut /355

Thanks again to @tonyaces for the trade!

Thoughts on my latest Jones additions welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Chronicles Panini Kadarius Toney

I keep waiting for the Giants to feature Kadarius Toney more in their playbook, but apparently something was up this past Sunday as Toney spent most of it on the bench vs the Titans.

He did get a few plays in and was very impactful when he was in the game. The guy has Barry Sander-esque moves where he can cutback all over the field making tacklers miss left and right.

I started chasing Toney cards early last year and was building quite the collection before he started getting hit by the injury bug and I started to hesitate on building a PC of him.

So I stopped.

However, that doesn't mean I completely stopped adding to the collection when I find them cheap. My latest addition is the perfect example of cheap from a cheap product.

Toney has multiple cards in the 2021 Chronicles set and this one if the Panini base from it. I know a lot don't like this product much, but I like the photography on some of the cards like this one.

Card back with what appears to be updated stats from 2021. I didn't notice that until now.

Thoughts on my latest addition welcomed in comments.

We Were Titans

We FINALLY did it.

We played a close game and won it.

Not to mention, we are above .500 for the first time in 6 years.

It was a long time coming for my NY Giants. Us, as fans NEEDED that win and that kind of win to prove us that the culture change wasn't just words being spoken. That those words were actually being put into motion.

The 21-20 win over the Tennessee Titans was huge for Giants players and Giants fans and kept us on edge throughout. Coming back from a sloppy first half down by 13, to taking a gamble on a late 2-point conversion when you could have simply kicked the extra point for a tie and possibly overtime, to the defense allowing the Titans to drive into field goal range only to miss it, it was like a Hollywood movie ending for the NY Giants.

I can't remember the last time I had a smile after a NY Giants football game.

On top of this, after a rough couple of seasons for Saquon Barkley, yesterday he looked like his rookie year self, tearing up Titans defense for 164 rush yards,1 touchdown and the key two-point conversion where he made two defenders miss. He carried the entire offense and team to victory. Basically, did the same for my Fantasy football team as well.

In honor of his performance, I thought I would post my Top 10 favorite non-hit cards I have of him.
1. Panini Instant "Barkley Caps Historic Rookie Season" card. Love the photograph on this one.

2. One of the most iconic plays for Saquon with the Legend Eli Manning watching in the background.

3. 2018 Prizm rookie card. The best non-autograph rookie card he has.

4.2019 Prestige Highlight Reel. This is the same photo from the Dallas game above, just at a different angle.

5. It's blue, he is all alone in the end zone, great photo again.

6. Shiny.

7. The face says it all on this one.

8. Throwback Zenith 1997 Zenith base card design, what isn't to like about this card?

9. Saquon always has his eye on the defense. He made sure yesterday to the Titans defenders were on his radar.

10. Zenith Z-Team. Anyone who collected Zenith knows how cool these cards actually are.

With those now being posted, I hope Saquon can continue to build off from his success yesterday. The Giants have their first home game of the season coming up this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Could the G-Men go 2-0? Fall flat at home? Will Saquon continue to build off last week? So many questions and the answers will be coming up in 6 days and I can't wait.

Rodney's Cardboard:1992 Wild Card 5-Stripe

It's NFL Kickoff Sunday and what a better way to celebrate such an even than with my latest Rodney Hampton add. There haven't been a lot of them incoming, but a few here and there.

This one comes thanks to my buddy @ShaneSalmonson from Cheap Wax Wednesday fame.

I never know the odds on these as the early 90's didn't have odds, but I know the higher the stripe, the more rare.
This one is just a base stripe with 5. Surprisingly I hadn't seen one pop up yet until Shane did. The only difference in these between the base is the literal black line at the corner of the card with the number of stripe it is.

Back of the card. I miss the days when we had photography and actual stats on the back of cards.

I am just glad to have another one of these done. This is my toughest chase left for Rodney other than 1/1's.

Thoughts on my latest Rodney Hampton and if you ever pulled or chased these welcomed in comments.

Eli's Cardboard:2017 Donruss Elite Pro Bowl Standout Gold Patch

Every time I add a new Eli Manning card, I say to myself, this is now my favorite Eli Manning card I own.

And guess what, today's card now becomes my most favorite Eli Manning card I own.

I own two copies of the base version of today's card but hadn't found a good deal on a patch one yet. Until recently when one went up for auction, I wasn't going to just let that go. I put in my best bid and won it.

You can tell it's a gold version from the gold on the card. These are numbered to 99 as well and most include a decent colored patch from the player's Pro Bowl jersey.

I just wished they were game worn. So much of this player worn stuff that I question if they were even worn by the player.

Thoughts on my latest outstanding addition welcomed in comments!

Single Card Mail Day:2022 Prestige Wan'Dale Robinson

It's almost time for some NY Giants football and I have been ready since last season ended!

This years rookie class for the NY Giants was very exciting, though not a lot of guys I will particularly chase down like in the past years draft such as Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney and Daniel Jones .

But, one guy has me intrigued.

Wan'Dale Robinson should be a fun piece for the Giants offense. He can do pretty much anything on the field, which will be great in an offense that could really use some firepower.

I recently added only my second card of Robinson in the mail.

This is his 2022 Prestige rookie card,

Still a lot of college uni product out there is why I haven't added more. I prefer pro uniforms.

I can't wait to see how the Gmen utilize Robinson in this offense and hopefully he makes an impact.

Thoughts on my latest add or Robinson welcomed in comments.

RAK'd an LT

I have a lot of great friends in the hobby. Most of them are on Twitter but I do have some among the sport card bloggers world as well.

One of my constant pwe trading friends on Twitter is @Mackdogking551.

He saw a card that I was tagged in on Twitter and being the great guy he is, snagged it for me and had it sent my way.

That card was of HOFer, best defensive player in the game ever and a guy that always was one step ahead of the offense, Lawrence Taylor.

I don't know how many Taylor relics I own now, under 10 for sure, but this one has got to be the best looking of the group.
This is a well-designed card as well.

But sadly, has the typical Panini back. Of course once again this relic is also player worn.

Still cool though.

Thanks again Mackdog for the card!

Rodney's Cardboard: 1991 Upper Deck Mini Blank Back

It's Sunday and it's time for another NEW Rodney's Cardboard. I can't promise these posts every week as new Rodney's are not coming in a lot, but when I don't post these, I will post Eli's Cardboard.

Today's card is an oddball. Not something you see every day which I love to build my Rodney collection around. I want the best, most unique player collection out there.

I WANT AND HOPE I AM THE NUMBER ONE RODNEY HAMPTON FAN.

Today's Rodney only costed me a couple of bucks which was more than worth it for me.

The card is much smaller, roughly the size of a Panini sticker.

And has no card back.

I am not sure how these oddballs got onto the market or any back stories on them, but I like adding them and have added a good handful over the years.

Thoughts on my latest Rodney add is welcomed in comments!

My Kayvon Collection

With the 5th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft...the NY Giants select...Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon.

Draft night this year was really exciting if you were a Giants fan. We were able to draft two big studs in the first round along with some other fun pieces in the other rounds. Hopefully most of these guys pan out because this team needs them to.

The most important piece is Kayvon to me. This defense has lacked a pass rushing fiend since the Super Bowl winning years.

Fingers crossed he can stay healthy after his preseason injury and be all the hype the draft experts said he would be.

Here is my collection so far of him. Most of these have come via trading,

(closest to a Giants card of him I have)

And my first and only auto. Gotta thank my buddy @StephenJFurlong for trading it to me.

I hope to add an NFL autograph of him at some point in Giants uni.

Thoughts on Kayvon and my collection so far welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2020 Donruss Elite Orange Xavier McKinney

Some cards catch me visually and draw me right in.

Sometimes those cards come with a bonus surprise.

That is what happened with my latest addition.

On Twitter, someone had this 2020 Donruss Elite Orange Xavier McKinney for sale and the colorful spotty orange color against the blue and bama maroon had me. It needed to be in my collection and soon after it was.

What I didn't know was that the card was numbered to 49 until I got it in hand.

Here is the back of the card.

The other fun surprise about this card was that it was RAK'd to me by a follower.

Thanks again to @natescards for this.

Thoughts on today's card welcomec in comments.

My 2021 Prizm Base Giants

Finally! I get to put up a new post up on this blog!

Today I am showing off my Prizm base card adds.

Since this year's Prizm base was such a deep set, there were extra Giants in it instead of the usual three or four.

This year's Prizm included seven Big Blue in the base set including,
Former safety Jabrill Peppers.

Leonard Williams

Kyle Rudolph (who also has an autograph I want in the set to go into my Giants autograph PC)

Blake Martinez who I hope has a big year back.

Darius Slayton (let's see if keeps his roster spot)

Saquon Barkley (I just traded for him in Fantasy)

And Super Bowl 42 winning catch....

Plaxico Burress.

Missing is Daniel Jones from having them all. I will have to chase him down.

Missing from the set that should be in it is Eli Manning. If you can put Kyle Rudolph in, Eli should be in.

Thoughts on this year's Prizm welcomed in comments.
