Single Card Mail Day:2021 Chronicles Totally Certified Autograph Ottis Anderson

I know, I know. Another Ottis Anderson. But this one was color team matched, dirt cheap and number match parallel too. I just needed it and now this marks I think the fourth or fifth autograph of his in my collection.

Sometime when I find more time, I will be posting numbers on each player in my collection and how many overall cards, autographs, relics, etc.

I have them all written down, just needs to be typed. Some day.

Rodney's Cardboard:2021 Panini XR Summitt Patch 1/1

Welcome back!

This is the final Rodney's Cardboard for now as I have no new incoming Rodney's. Finding a new Hampton is getting impossible, so maybe it's time I break out to other things and not just cards. I am still missing one Starting Lineup.

Today's Rodney is probably one of my favorites in my collection. A couple of years ago, Panini decided to include the first ever Rodney relic cards. Up until then, he didn't have a single one.

And now he has his first ever Patch Card along with his first ever Laundry Tag (still need).

But, here is that said Patch Card that is also a 1/1

This is another one of those Wes snags for me for a Christmas gift last year. It's a beautiful card, just wished it was game worn.

Thanks again to Wes!

Pack Pulled Again

I hate bye weeks. It's so boring.

But I can say I am still excited about the future of this team after a 6-2 start. The Seahawks loss was a tough one to swallow as the team reverted back to looking a little like last year, but I still feel with the schedule they have remaining, they can still make a run at this thing.

All I want out of this team for the second half of the season is a playoff berth. One playoff game would bring me so much joy.

I guess we will see how they play out of the bye this week against Houston.

Now onto today's post. This is almost like a sequel to a previous post where I pack pulled some Giants. It doesn't happen often, so I got to celebrate it.

Recently, I started busting some older packs I had sitting around and one of those was a 2021 Prestige Hanger pack.

To my surprise, I landed three NY Giants pulls.

A Living Legends of Jeremy Shockey. Still my favorite Tight End ever to watch.

Darius Slayton Xtra Points Astral Stars parallel. I just picked him up for my fantasy football team that is struggling at the WR position.

Final card I found was an Xtra Points Green of Daniel Jones numbered to 199.

Pretty decent finds for my collection.

Thoughts on my latest adds, the second half of the Giants season and what you expect from your team in the second half of the season welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day: 2021 Obsidian Volcanic Patch Kadarius Toney

I have to admit, it's Monday morning, and I am smiling away.

Why?

Well, my NY Giants came back from double digits with practice squad wideouts, three of the four top corners out, a banged up QB and RB, and other injured players to beat the Green Bay Packers 27-22 in the London Game.

This game came down to good coaching and grit. This Giants team has a fight in them that I haven't seen in so, so long. It's a beautiful thing.

My latest pickup is of a player I am hoping that can only add to this team, if he can ever get on the field healthy.

Kadarius Toney was a first-round pick by the Giants last year and has spent most of his time hurt. At this point, I don't see him on the roster next year.

But, they could surprise me, like the team has this year.
I picked up this patch card not because it was Toney, but because it was a nice-looking patch card for $1.75.

Thoughts on the Giants, your NFL team and this card welcomed in comments!

Stained Glass Saquon

It's Monday! A fabulous Monday...for now.

Who knows how I will feel tonight. I may be screaming and yelling or smiling with tears.

The Gmen go all white tonight at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football and I am all for it. I am wondering if I should wear a white t-shirt at home tonight or if my superstition of not wearing my Saquon jersey like I did for the first two weeks will get to me.

Either way, I can't wait.

Speaking of Saquon, I pulled off a trade last week for a Case Hit of him with @SpartanKing1534.
These 2021 Mosaic Stained Glass inserts are not easy to find. I know I have never pulled one so when I saw @SpartanKing1534 tweet he had one of Saquon for trade or sell, I jumped in.

The deal went fast and we both got our mail days on Saturday.

Stained Glass isn't the coolest case hit pull I have seen, but isn't bad.

Thanks again for the trade @SpartanKing1534.

Thoughts on this card welcomed in comments.

I am hoping for a 3-0 start tonight, but not sure how I feel about tonight's game. Worried about the Giants offensive line vs Michah Parsons. We will see.

2-0

Well....well...well.

For the first time in 6 years, the NY Giants are starting the season 2-0 with back-to-back close wins. These were games they normally would lose but with the new coaching staff have found ways to win.

Yesterday's 19-16 win over the Panthers had the similar look to their first game. Sloppy first half of offense that led to a stronger second half on offense. I am not sure what Coach Daboll says to them at halftime, but I hope it continues.

There weren't really any standout players other than kicker Graham Gano, who I don't have any cards of, so thought I would show off some recent Kadarius Toney cards.

These were tossed into a recent trade mail day I had.
2021 Chronicles Absolute

2021 Prizm Orange bubbles?

2021 Chronicles Gridiron Kings

2021 Prizm Rookie Variation

I do wish the Giants would get Toney more involved into the offense. I still feel he is being underutilized. Get the ball into his hands, give him a little space and some magic could happen.

Thoughts on the Giants start, Toney or today's cards welcomed in comments.

A Couple Of Dimes

Another successful trade was in the books with @tonyaces and I landed myself a couple more Daniel Jones to my collection.

Danny Dimes is another player, just like Toney, I have slowed down on adding a lot of cards of. I have a feeling that one or even both players won't have a future with the team. But, occasionally I will still take their cards. I just don't seek them.

First new add was a 2019 Panini Chronicles Studio rookie card parallel /199.

2020 Select Bronze Die Cut /355

Thanks again to @tonyaces for the trade!

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Chronicles Panini Kadarius Toney

I keep waiting for the Giants to feature Kadarius Toney more in their playbook, but apparently something was up this past Sunday as Toney spent most of it on the bench vs the Titans.

He did get a few plays in and was very impactful when he was in the game. The guy has Barry Sander-esque moves where he can cutback all over the field making tacklers miss left and right.

I started chasing Toney cards early last year and was building quite the collection before he started getting hit by the injury bug and I started to hesitate on building a PC of him.

So I stopped.

However, that doesn't mean I completely stopped adding to the collection when I find them cheap. My latest addition is the perfect example of cheap from a cheap product.

Toney has multiple cards in the 2021 Chronicles set and this one if the Panini base from it. I know a lot don't like this product much, but I like the photography on some of the cards like this one.

Card back with what appears to be updated stats from 2021. I didn't notice that until now.

Thoughts on my latest addition welcomed in comments.

Rodney's Cardboard:2021 Illusions Trophy Collection Rainbow Thus Far

I thought I would recap my chase so far for the 2021 Illusions Trophy Collection Rodney Hampton chase.

And yes, Rodney's Cardboard has returned to this blog. It feels right here and not anywhere else.

Here are the cards in this chase so far,

Here are the /25, /10, /5 and the 1/1.

Once again, I am only missing the /35 which is on eBay but overpriced at $70. However, it would finish up this rainbow. But, still, overpriced and has been for months. The seller has never once put the price down.

Thoughts on this chase and if you would buy the /35 just to finish up the rainbow if you were in my shoes?

Rodney's Cardboard: 2021 Panini Illusions /5

Another week, another NEW Rodney's Cardboard!

So far, this segment hasn't fared too well on here but this is the permanent home either way. Hopefully I can build this blog up some.

Today, I am showing off another Panini Illusions add.

Last week I showed off the /10 Illusions card and today I am tackling one that is a bit tougher to find, the /5.

This card has like a fireworks kind of look to it in the background.

The card back remains the same.

Once again, here are the ones that I know exist and I will cross off the ones I have with every post. The ones that are offered are, /35, /25, /10, /5 and 1/1. If there is any others outside of those, that information would be new to me.

Thanks to my buddy Shane for the assist on landing this card.

Thoughts on today's card and the Illusions parallels welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Red Kadarius Toney

Welcome back to another Playoff Rookie Wave mail day of Kadarius Toney!

Hopefully by now you are not bored with these.

Today's colored parallel took a while to arrive as I am not sure if the seller took forever to ship or is USPS took forever to get it to me. It made me nervous for a little while but it's in hand and all good now.
So here is the red which matches parts of the Giants away uniform. Looks really sharp. You can tell the differences in parallels for these by looking at the sand color.

Back of the card as well which also tells us it's a Prizm parallel.

So far, I have the following, Base, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

Here they are all together, and yes, I forgot to showcase the blue on here, but check it out below.
Don't tell me you don't think these look cool whether you are a Giants fan or not.

I actually have at least one more on it's way and more updates to come. If you see any of these I don't have, please let me know. I am hoping for the rainbow, but I never get my hopes up for that.

Thoughts on today's addition and my rainbow beginning is welcomed in comments!

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Silver Kadarius Toney

10 Days ago, I posted how I fell in love with this year's 2021 Playoff Rookie Wave and how I was going to chase what I could of them especially in Kadarius Toney form.

Well, today is my latest add to my chase with a few others on their way as I type this. Unless USPS loses it.

The one today I am posting is what I consider the first parallel in the series with a silver. I think the parallels for this set make the design stand out even more.

Back of the card. The only difference between this back and the base back is the word Prizm printed on top of Panini.

So far, I have the following, Base, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

I will continue to update this chase as I go.

Thoughts on today's card is welcomed in comments!

Rodney's Cardboard: 2021 Panini Illusions /10

Hello! And welcome back to the latest Rodney's Cardboard.

Last week's newest addition didn't view too well, so I guess I will post another just like it haha!

Last week I showed off the /25 Illusions card and today I am tackling one that is a bit tougher to find, the /10. Which is actually an eBay 1/1 with a 10/10.

There isn't much to these cards when it comes to telling them apart as it's only the background shine that really changes. This one looks like a sunburst.

More 2021 Playoff Adds

This year's 2021 Playoff football product had six NY Giants in its base card set excluding the rookies. I had already found the first three in Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram but was missing the final three until today.

After opening a couple of fat packs, I was able to piece the other three together,
Lawrence Taylor who possibly is the greatest defensive player ever.

Darius Slayton who had great chemistry and played amazing his rookie year has dropped off some. Hopefully he will continue to be a Giant and pick up his game this year.

Final card I needed was the Giants big offseason add last year in Kenny Golladay. He didn't quite do what the Gmen had hoped but maybe this year with new coaches and a new look on the offense things will be different.

I am still in need of a couple rookies, all of the inserts and all of the parallels except one card. It's not easy to chase all of them as a team collector but I will chip away what I can when I can.

Thoughts on today's additions welcomed in comments.

Wander Who Sent Me This Eli?

I am a NY Giants collector first, but I also dive into many other parts of the hobby as well.

One of the parts of the hobby I have collected since I began is rookie cards. Every year I seek out a rookie card of every player just to have on hand.

With no luck in finding Series 1 at the time, I was in desperate need of a Wander Franco rookie and that's when my buddy @DarkCards66, saw that I needed one and sent one along in his recent mail day to me. Not only did he cover my Franco need, but blew my socks off with another card.

First, the Franco rookie. I find it so odd that this years rookie logo is so small. I actually had to take a double look just to see it.

@DarkCards66 also passed along this dual with Vlad Jr and Wander.

Then came the card that made me fall out of my chair.

TRIPLE THREATS PATCH RELIC /50 of Eli Manning, Andre Williams and Odell Beckham Jr!! Wow! Such a stunning card!!! And if you are wondering, I am counting this as an Eli card when it comes to my collection.

This card features two Super Bowl winning players along with a guy I have a TON of cards of as a side PC. One of which will be posting tomorrow.

Thanks again to @DarkCards66 for the RAK mail day. I have been staring at this card sitting on my desk for the past few days.

Thoughts on this years Topps rookie card logo, if you collect rookies like I do and my newest Eli Manning add welcomed in comments.

Rodney's Cardboard:2021 Illusions /25

Welcome back to the latest installment of Rodney's Cardboard.

Today, we will be kicking off a streak of Rodney Hampton Illusion adds. Well, are they technically Rodney's? They are to me.

The player featured on here is Saquon Barkley so technically it is his cards, but Rodney is featured in the background.

From what I have found information on, there are five cards to be chased. I don't know if there is more as this checklist is completely messed up and confusing.

Here are the ones I know that exist so far, /35, /25/ /10/ /5 and 1/1. If there is any others outside of those, that information would be new to me.

Today's card is the /35. As you can see, the main part of the card features Saquon.

But there is some faded Rodney in this card along with his name on the back as well.

Your thoughts are welcomed on the lastest Rodney Hampton add in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Purple Kadarius Toney

Most of today's inserts are very lame in terms of design. I know most of you will agree, especially if you collected as I did in the 90's. There is no comparison.

However, there are moments that today's inserts will shine through and catch my attention. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

The Rookie Wave inserts in this year's Playoff football did just that.

I pulled my first Rookie Wave insert in a blaster box of Playoff, after seeing how great the card looked, I went to look and see if any NY Giants were on the checklist and that's when I found out Kadarius Toney was. I knew right there that I needed it.

Upon further research, I found out that the Rookie Waves also came with the following parallels,
Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1. I told myself no more rainbow chases since I can't ever complete it, but here I am today chasing what I can of this card.

This is the purple parallel from the set. You can tell by the purple beach color.

Back of the card is not bad either.

I have a few more of these coming in and will post them all once they are in hand.

For now, your thoughts on this latest add welcomed in comments.

2021 Playoff Adds

The closest the Giants have gotten to the Playoffs in the last six years comes via Panini's Playoff football brand.

Just like with every product, I try my best to add at least one of each card to my collection. I am not a duplicate collector unless it's a specific card.

I am still missing a couple base cards from this product, hopefully will add those soon. Here is what I accumulated so far,

Daniel Jones base

Saquon Barkley Base Card

Kadarius Toney Rookie Card base.

Aaron Robinson Kickoff Parallel. I don't have many cards of Robinson.

I am missing Golladay, LT and Slayton for base. Along with many inserts and parallels.

If you have any that I missing, let me know.

Parking Lot Add

I know the title of today's post is a bit odd, but it's exactly what happened.

Last week, I met my father in the Walmart parking lot as he picked up a blaster box for me and also had a few extra cards to give me as well. If someone was to look at us from a distance, it may had appeared as another kind of deal. But, since I am not into any drugs, it was simply cardboard.

As he opened up the backseat door, I saw a two-row shoebox sitting there full of cards with one catching my eye. I pointed out the card and he said, "here, take it."

That card was this 2021 Mosaic Green parallel of Leonard Williams. My first Mosaic Giants card of the year. I really like the look of the parallels in this set.

It was an odd way to add a card to my collection, but isn't that what makes the hobby so much fun. The stories we get to tell about how we acquired certain cards?

Where is the weirdest place you added a card? Let me know in comments!
