My Isaiah Hodgins PC Thus Far

He wasn't the biggest name of the 2020 NFL Draft when the Buffalo Bills drafted him, but he made a big impact on the 2022 NY Giants.

Isaiah was drafted in the 6th round by the Bills in 2020 but never caught on with the team that was already loaded at WR. He was waived on November 1st and grabbed by the Giants on November 2nd. He hauled in 4 touchdowns in the final 5 games with the Giants helping them on their run. Then in the playoffs against the Vikings, he hauled in 8 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. He had the flash of a number one guy for Daniel Jones.

I caught on with Hodgins in the first few games he had with the Giants and decided I wanted to chase his cards.

I don't have a lot yet, but here is what I have so far,
2020 Sage Hit base

Sage Aspire Bronze Autograph

Leaf Gold autograph

2020 Prizm Draft Autograph

2020 Score Autograph

2020 Score Green Autograph

2020 Luminance Red Ink autograph

Not a bad start, especially in the autograph department. But, there is a long way to go.

I have begun to add my collection to TCDB, so if you have any I don't, let me know!

Thoughts on Hodgins or my collection so far welcomed in comments.

Let's Talk About Dre

In the 4th round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the NY Giants select Boston College Running Back Andre Williams.

The Giants seemed to had found their guy in Williams later in the draft or at least thought they had. Williams played well his rookie season finishing with 721 yards and 7 touchdowns and I thought his momentum would carry over to his sophomore year....but it didn't. He had 88 carries for 257 yards and one rushing touchdown. The following the year he was cut by the Giants and landed mainly on the Chargers practice squad before getting injured and not playing football again until he played one season in the cancelled 2020 XFL season.

His career didn't last long with the Giants, but my collecting of him did. For some reason or another I hooked right onto Williams his rookie year and have continued to add to my collection ever since. What most collectors would call junk cards I actually consider great.

I recently added some cool, and cheap cards.

The patch on this one had me, the autograph was just a bonus and the /10 part was the bonus of the bonus.

Topps Field Access never gets the credit it deserves. Great photography and a deep autograph checklist.

Breast Cancer Awareness arm band swatch.

2014 Topps Fire, the Inagural year of the product, is still to me the best looking of the group.

/44 Crown Royale autograph.

/15 Crown Royale autograph.

I am hoping to chase more of these autos. I really like the silhouette die-cut look and the shine behind the player.

Some solid additions for that PC. I really need to get this collection up on TCDB so I know where I stand and what I need.

Thoughts on my latest additions welcomed in comments!

Single Card Mail Day:2018 Absolute Head To Toe Evan Engram

I chase a lot of cards for my Giants collection, any new ones are the main attraction, but some cards I put before others.

Ones I define as the "cool cards." They are sort of the clique jocks/cool kids of my collection group.

I recently picked up one of them for cheap and thought it would be fun to show it off today.
The card is called Head to Toe and it is exactly what it claims to be.

The head, top piece on the card, is a swatch of the player's helmet swatch

And the toe, bottom of the card, is a player's cleat swatch. Not a sock.

Even though Engram isn't a member of the Giants anymore, I still really wanted this card and glad I picked it up. He was also one of the only Giants on the checklist I believe for this type of card.

I have always liked Panini Absolute as it always includes the unique relic cards like this one.

Thoughts on my latest addition to my Giants collection welcomed in comments. I hope to find some other unique cards to add like this soon.

Eli's Cardboard:2022 Prestige Dot Parallel Eli Manning

Eli Manning has taken bit of a step back in terms of pickups recently for my Giants collection, not that I still don't consider him a top chase for my PC, I just have been focusing on other parts of my Giants PC instead.

However, thanks to a Twitter trade, I added my first parallel from 2022 Prestige of Eli.

This is a dots parallel, looks pretty cool and similar to something you might have seen in the Pacific Revolution products.

Thoughts on the parallel or the new add welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day: 2019 Panini Gold Standard Newly Minted Patch Card Darius Slayton

I have picking up and trading for a lot of Giants recently.

Some are players of the past, others are players of the now.

Or for now.....

With Darius Slayton's contract up, will the G-Men consider bringing him back? He had a decent season for a player who was rumored to be traded and ended up being the Giants number one guy. However, he still had key drops in games including the Wild Card Playoff game where he dropped a wide-open pass that would have given them a first down...if not more and ended the game against the Vikings. Fortunately for him, they held on for the win anyways.

In my opinion, I think they should bring him back but only if it fits the budget. Do not overpay.

I recently picked up this patch card of Darius for $2.

It was a good-looking card and fun swatch so couldn't just let it sit there with no bids.

Thoughts on my latest add and if the Giants should extend Darius welcomed in comments!

2022 Season Came To An End

The 2022 NFL season is winding down with only the Pro Bowl games, bleh, and the Super Bowl left.

It's been an exciting season overall especially if you were a NY Giants fan.

A team that was supposed to win only 4 games not only made the playoffs but went out and beat one of NFC's top teams in the Wild Card round. How about that!

I am still celebrating that win and my wife even got me this nifty NY Giants 2022 NFL Playoffs shirt to commemorate the occasion. (side note, I still really want an Our Way playoff shirt)
(quite nice, isn't it??)

And even though the season ended terribly to the hands of the rival Eagles in the Divisional Round, there is a lot of excitement to be had.

Did I mention we got a playoff win for the first time in 11 years and our first playoff game in 6?!

I can't wait to see where they go from here. Especially with some cap space to add to what they already built along with a couple extra draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. Should be an exciting and intriguing offseason.

Next season cannot come soon enough.....though I do want to enjoy the summer weather first.

Thanks again for the amazing season G-Men and let's go Chiefs in the Super Bowl!
