Given A Heads Up

Being the last post of the year, I wanted to make it a good card to end with.

A buddy of mine on Twitter owns a copy of today's card and knew that I had wanted one for myself, so he had been keeping an eye out for cheaper ones not listed on eBay.

When a copy popped up recently, he sent me a link the link to eBay and I spent a week watching it. I had saved my final $10 on a gift card to eBay and I was hoping it was going to be less than that.

The week went by and I put my bid in....and landed the card for ,99 which is cool for a RARE CASE HIT!!

This is a 2015 Topps Presidential Celebrations card of Coach Tom Coughlin alongside President George Bush. These 14 cards features Super Bowl winning coaches at the White House.

The back just gives the details of the day.

I noticed when looking up the checklist that the Giants have a second card for Super Bowl 46 with President Obama that I will definitely need to find.

Thanks again to my buddy Chris for the heads up on this one.

Thoughts on this card welcomed in comments!

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Rodney's Cardboard:1994 NFL Christmas Promo Card

First off, just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas! Hope you find all of that cardboard you have been seeking under your tree.

Secondly, it has been WAY TOO LONG since I have done a Rodney's Cardboard post that we are due. So let's get to it.

Today's card I wasn't technically sure if I should consider a Rodney card or not.

It features mainly Santa but Santa stacking cards from 1994 Fleer.

However, upon closer inspection...one of those cards he was stacking on the bottom row happens to be Rodney's from 1994 Fleer.

And there you have it.
The back of the card is just listing off which products were included in the 1994 Christmas promo set.

Being someone who also collects Santa/Christmas cards this was a unique add that combines both PC's.

So, what do you think...should this be a Rodney card or not? Also, do you spot any other cards in the stack?

Eli's Cardboard: 2016 Panini Royal Football

Today's Eli Manning card features two of the greatest to ever play the quarterback position.....and they are brothers to boot!

There is no denying that the Manning brothers are royalty and a national treasure both on and off the field. Their personalities together and apart make them a dynamic duo.

I have a few Eli and Peyton cards in my Eli collection.

A dream some day is to get a dual autograph of them, and an even bigger dream would be a triple autograph featuring their father on it as well.

Maybe some day...if I win the lottery.

Thoughts on Peyton and Eli's personalities off the field welcomed in comments.

The Latest Eli's

I have been on an Eli buying rampage recently.

Any card that features Eli, catches my eye and fits into my very small budget, I will grab it.

Like this Eli that features the 1995 Finest design. I really like these. I have three I believe out of the rainbow...which I am not chasing.

This NFL Legends Rookie was under $5. Steal!

I usually only chase plain relic cards if they have an interesting design, like this one.

And this relic. Panini doesn't do it like this anymore.

Also grabbed this trio for under $6 as well.

My favorite relic pickup recently was this /50 Sunday Showdown dual patch card. Yes, these are patch swatches.

The next relic was like $3 for this Ultra Stars. It's plain all around, but for the price I had to snag it.

And the final card, another rookie card under $2.

In comments today, let me know your favorite card of the group today and if you buy relic cards for your PC player.

Caps Off To You

I like autographs in my Giants collection and all, but when I can find a really cool relic addition, that sometimes is even better.

Today's card I landed for less than $10 and found it worth every dollar.

A cool swatch of Andre Williams draft day hat which may now be the center of my Andre Williams PC.

Let me know in comments if sometimes a relic card catches your attention more than an autograph one.

Eli's Cardboard:2022 Prestige Any Given Sunday Holofoil Xtra Points /25

Today's latest Eli addition is pretty obvious on why I added it.

It features the GOAT of all time Super Bowls in Super Bowl 42.

I have said this so many times on here and I will beat that drum again. I will continue to add as many new Giants Super Bowl cards as I can from Super Bowl 42 and Super Bowl 46.

Those games are just that important to me.

I had considered at one point chasing the rainbow of today's card with this one and the base version done, until something went wrong with the 1/1 that I came so close to owning. More on that another time.

Thoughts on today's card welcomed in comments.

Brent's Former Giants

Once A Giant, Always a Giant is the saying for us NY fans.

And it's one I take to heart.
Even if it's a player who may had faked injuries or didn't want to play for the team.

Or a player that had so much potential, but could never quite put it all together.

Or a player that really struggled blocking and didn't even seem to exist on the field.

They are still Giants in my heart and my collection.

Which is why I pulled off a quick trade with my buddy @Brent3323 to land these new ones who doesn't hold onto former Giants.

Thanks again to Brent for these. They fit perfectly into my collection.

Thoughts on the latest adds or the players featured is welcomed in comments.

Huddle Up

There was only one insert I was lacking from 2022 Score football for the Giants and that one was Huddle Up.

For some reason I had zero success in pulling one myself.

It's a card I really liked since it featured the entire Giants offense in a huddle.
Luckily for me, I was able to find someone who had an extra for trade. I was pretty stoked.

But then I saw a blue team color matched parallel for less than $2 and I had to have that too. The cool thing about this one other than the team color match is that the card is numbered 3/100 and there is a #3 in the huddle.

The one and only Sterling Shepard.

Let me know your thoughts on today's cards and if you like collecting team cards like this.

Single Card Mail Day:2005 Bowman Coaching Prospects Autograph Tim Lewis

Tim Lewis was a former 1st round draft pick in 1983 NFL Draft who made it only three seasons in the league before getting into the coaching world.

One of his many coaching stops was for the NY Giants as their defensive coordinator from 2004 to 2006 in which he did a fairly decent job with the unit at the time. Many thought he was Head Coaching material but never got the chance...in the NFL at least.

He did get his one head coach opportunity which was for the Birmingham Iron who played in the AAF League that only lasted one year.

I grabbed this autograph for less than $!0 as a unique addition to my Giants PC. It is the first card I have of a non-head coach autograph.

Thoughts on my latest card welcomed in comments.

Show Me The Way: 1998 Ultra Platinum Medallion

It has been quite some time since I posted a new Charles Way card. It's mainly because I haven't added any as my PC focus has been on other NY Giants players, hence all of the Eli Manning cards I have been posting.

But, when I see a new and fairly tough Way card to get, I add it.

Today's card ranks up there as one of the toughest Ways I have added to date.

I never once pulled one of these in packs of Ultra despite all of the packs I opened. There are no odds on pulling these either which is what makes them so tough to find.

There are also only 98 of these to find. Which makes them extremely rare.

Luckily my friend Shane from Cheap Wax Wednesday fame found this one for me to add.  Thanks Shane!

Thoughts on today's card and if you own any Platinum Medallions is welcomed in comments.

Eli's Cardboard:2004 Fleer Greats

Since I last posted on here, the Giants have started to crumble some as the playoff push is on. They currently sit in the 6th spot in the NFC with a 7-4 record.

They cannot continue to lose with a tough schedule ahead with four more divisional games left. The loss to Seattle could still come back to bite them if they lose this weekend and Seattle wins.

Can a Daniel Jones led team make the playoffs like the hero I am featuring today? Guess we will see.

Eli had an 8-4 record in the playoffs along with the Super Bowl runs for the Giants and they haven't seen a playoff game since Eli played. I think we are due for one.

Today's Eli card is his Fleer Greats rookie. The card features Eli and has a team matching border color.

The rookie cards were numbered to 999 that year.

Thoughts on my latest add and if you think the Giants will hold on to that final spot welcomed in comments.

The Score 2022 Autograph Chase

It was nice to see this year's Score football release come out a little later so the rookies can be featured in their NFL uniforms as opposed to college ones which is the typical thing for Score.

Which made me like this year's product even more than usual. Not too mention, it included a ton of Giants autographs on its checklist.

So, when I saw that Jashaun Corbin was apart of that checklist,I had to have it. I didn't have his autograph yet and he was a part of the Giants 2022 rookie class.

Next up, even though Kyle Rudolph was not great for the Giants, he still played for them, and I still wanted his autograph in blue. Well, Score had one for me.

Both of these autographs combined I paid less than $10 for.

After landing both though, I had a crazy idea. What if I chased all of the Giants base autographs from Score? How cool would that be?

So here is what I would have to chase if I decide to continue,
Azeez Ojulari
Daniel Jones
Eli Manning (has only a base red zone /20)
Evan Neal (rookies signature green)
Jashaun Corbin
Kyle Rudolph
Kayvon Thibodeaux
Kenny Golladay
Michael Strahan
WanDale Robinson (rookies signature green)
Xavier McKinney

Here is what I would have left after today's post,

A lot of these won't be easy if I decide to continue such as Eli Manning and WanDale Robinson.

I want to also admit before I finish up today's post that I do have two more done off the list I will save for another day's post. Stay tuned for that.

If any of you have any of them to trade to me, just let me know in comments or send me an email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com. I always have plenty to trade.

Player Profile:Ottis Anderson

It has been a while since I posted in this series so thought it was due for a new post.

Today, I am showing off five of my favorite Ottis Anderson cards.

Overall, my collection consists of only 18 cards out of the possible 467 cards he has.

Ottis was first drafted to the St. Louis Cardinals where he spent his first 8 seasons. But, it's when he was traded to the Giants where he shined even more as he won two Super Bowl titles in Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXV and was MVP in one of them.

Speaking of the Super Bowls he was in.

Always liked this photo. It's outside the box which Upper Deck was really great with.

Fx foil. Sign me up!

There's Stadium Club again with the action photography.

Thoughts on my cards above, Ottis Anderson, if you own any of his cards or if you collect him is welcomed in comments today.

Eli's Cardboard:2004 Upper Deck Pro Sigs

When you can find a Future Hall Of Famer's rookie card for $2.50, do you say no?

The answer is no you don't.
So, I grabbed this Eli for my collection. Even though I have a lot of Eli rookies, I don't have a lot of his rookies so when I can grab one cheap, I take it.

This card isn't the greatest looking card, but it's new.

Back of card.

I have picked up a few cheaper Eli rookies as well I will show off in upcoming posts.

Pack Pulled Again

I hate bye weeks. It's so boring.

But I can say I am still excited about the future of this team after a 6-2 start. The Seahawks loss was a tough one to swallow as the team reverted back to looking a little like last year, but I still feel with the schedule they have remaining, they can still make a run at this thing.

All I want out of this team for the second half of the season is a playoff berth. One playoff game would bring me so much joy.

I guess we will see how they play out of the bye this week against Houston.

Now onto today's post. This is almost like a sequel to a previous post where I pack pulled some Giants. It doesn't happen often, so I got to celebrate it.

Recently, I started busting some older packs I had sitting around and one of those was a 2021 Prestige Hanger pack.

To my surprise, I landed three NY Giants pulls.

A Living Legends of Jeremy Shockey. Still my favorite Tight End ever to watch.

Darius Slayton Xtra Points Astral Stars parallel. I just picked him up for my fantasy football team that is struggling at the WR position.

Final card I found was an Xtra Points Green of Daniel Jones numbered to 199.

Pretty decent finds for my collection.

Thoughts on my latest adds, the second half of the Giants season and what you expect from your team in the second half of the season welcomed in comments.

Rodney's Cardboard:1992 Action Packed Mint Parallel

Welcome back for a NEW Rodney's Cardboard and another football Sunday!

Today, the Giants take on the Seattle Seahawks on the road who also have been a surprise. Whoever expected Geno Smith to outplay Russell Wilson this season?? Not me.

For today's Rodney's Cardboard, I am showing off a pretty unique and rare card I never thought I would see. It isn't easy to find new Rodney's anymore but occasionally, once every few months, there is a new one that pops up.

Which is why I didn't ever expect to see this one.

This is a 1992 Action Packed Mint Parallel. The card is the base card, but completely covered in gold foil.

The back of the card is also covered in the gold foil, besides the picture of Rodney, and the card is numbered 138/500. I have personally never seen one of these and can only imagine how hard a card numbered to 500 is actually to find in the early 90's.

Thanks to my buddy Shane from Cheap Wax Wednesday fame for helping me acquire this big need.

Thoughts on today's latest Rodney, if you have seen or owned one of these and what early 90's card are you still chasing welcomed in comments.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, GO GIANTS!

Eli's Cardboard:2004 Leaf Rookies And Stars Masks

Yes, I know, it's another Eli's Cardboard but most of my recent Giant pickups have been Eli Mannings. I have put a big emphasis on collecting Eli right now since there are no new Rodney's ever, Charles Way and Kerry Collins can be overpriced for the players they were, so it comes down to me putting a little more stock into Eli.

Not that it's a bad thing for the future Hall Of Famer.

Today's card I have wanted for some time because I like unique relic cards for any of my player collections.
This relic card features two swatches of helmet from Eli's facemask.

These usually go for a tad bit more than I wanted to pay, but I found a steal under $5 for this one. It's all about patience for some cards.

Thoughts on my latest Eli is welcomed in comments!

Eli's Cardboard:2022 Panini Legacy Legends

I can't remember who sent me today's newest Eli Manning but thank you for it.

It appears Panini has been adding Eli Manning to every one of its 2022 products. This will make it even tougher for me to collect all of him and at this point, I haven't really been chasing too many of them yet.

One of the first ones released was in Legacy football.
Eli was included in parallels, autographs and a base card which is a subset in the base set in Legends. It's not the greatest looking card in terms of design or photo, but a new Eli is a new Eli.

I miss the old days when the back card photo would be different than the front one.

Once again thanks to the person who sent me this.

Thoughts on my latest Eli and card backs welcomed in comments.

Kerry's Cardboard:2003 Topps Chrome Black Refractor

It's that time of week again, it's time for a new Kerry's Cardboard.

On this blog, only Kerry featured in Giants uniform are welcomed. All others I don't post....at least on here. I have been grabbing other cheap ones on and off.

Today, for $1.50 I was able to land another newbie for the PC. It's shiny and numbered.
2003 Topps Chrome black refractor you can define by its black border.

And the numbering to 599 on the back.

This card is another example of why we need Topps Chrome back in our football collecting lives.

Let me know your thoughts on my latest add in comments.

Pack Pulled

I have never had good luck in pulling NY Giants from packs, this includes even base cards. Usually I have to work out a trade to acquire my needs.

However, I bought a pack of Absolute football from Walmart a few weeks ago and actually pulled two Giants cards from it.

This is the Saquon Barkley base card that was the top card in the pack. I like the look of this year's design.

A few cards later and I found a green rookie parallel of Kayvon Thibodeaux.

I would call that a successful break.

Let me know if you ever find your teams or favorite players in your packs rips in comments below.
