Bryan Sends Some Bangers!

It's not easy trying to run two blogs, but I try to make time for both when I do. I like the elements that both bring so I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

However, that means catching up on trade mail days over time will take time to do so on both blogs.

Today's mail day came from my friend Bryan, @90sNicheFBcard around Christmas time. As I said, it may take a while to post.

Daniel Jones /25. I had a lot of faith in Jones, but after this year I am slightly losing it.

Two new Kayvons for that rookie cards collection. And they are shiny as well so that's always a bonus.

I am not a huge fan of Prizm inserts as they are pretty bland, but when you add the shiny element to it, they look great.

Donruss is one of the very few products left where the inserts throughout the product look like the good ole days. It's also one of the most fun products to open because of that.

Up next, Bryan picked up this card for me awhile ago when I was chasing the rainbow. This one is /10 and I have all of them except the 1/1. I do still want to finish this rainbow up, despite the player, just to say I did it and the fact that I think this is a pretty solid insert look.

Now we start to dig into meatier cards from the trade,
Darius Slayton relic. I think this guy could easily be a 1,000 yard receiver if the right quarterback arrives. Slayton is very underrated.

James Butler autograph.

Azeez autograph /20. I really wished he could have been the big deal he was made out to be. Imagine having him opposite of Kayvon and how much of a pass rush this could have.

Evan Engram has turned into a solid Tight End since he left the Giants. It was expected that the talent was always there and that he just needed a home to showcase it.

Will Tiki make the Hall Of Fame? I think a lot of people forget about his numbers because he struggled early in his career. Look at the later numbers and he ranks up there with the greats.

Mathias was another one of the big pass rushers that helped lead the Giants to two Super Bowl wins.

Mark was a legendary tight end for the Giants. It's just too bad I wasn't into football to have watched more of his play. I have seen highlights though and it appears I missed a lot. Glad to have his autograph apart of my collection now though.

And that does it for this great mail day.

Thanks to Bryan for the new PC cards and I look forward to trading with you again!

The Rest Of It!

Here is finally the rest of my trade with fellow Twitter friend, @TyRecino.

Along with a bonus surprise.

Danny Dimes numbered parallel. I think Absolute is really underrated with their parallels. This is really cool in person.

Not a Giant anymore and maybe not even apart of a team soon, but a new Kadarius Toney for my collection.

Landon Collins will always have a place in my collection. After his pick 6 last year that helped the Giants clinch a playoff spot, I won't forget about him anytime soon.

Ever since JPP left the Giants, he hasn't really found himself a permanent team. But, I will never forget his time with the Gmen. He was a firecracker off the end. Sorry, that was probably a badly placed joke.

I didn't know that Illusions had such spectacular looking parallels. I may have to look into others, especially of my boy Saquon. I just hope the Giants and him can meet in the middle and make him a Giant for life.

Now onto the bonus surprise....
Nice Select Gold Eli Manning /100. Before we get all excited and call this Eli number 1000, this is actually one of the Eli's that got misplaced in my countdown. So we will call this Eli 990.

Thanks again to Ty for this trade and looking forward to our next!

Brent's Former Giants

Once A Giant, Always a Giant is the saying for us NY fans.

And it's one I take to heart.
Even if it's a player who may had faked injuries or didn't want to play for the team.

Or a player that had so much potential, but could never quite put it all together.

Or a player that really struggled blocking and didn't even seem to exist on the field.

They are still Giants in my heart and my collection.

Which is why I pulled off a quick trade with my buddy @Brent3323 to land these new ones who doesn't hold onto former Giants.

Thanks again to Brent for these. They fit perfectly into my collection.

Single Card Mail Day: 2021 Obsidian Volcanic Patch Kadarius Toney

I have to admit, it's Monday morning, and I am smiling away.

Why?

Well, my NY Giants came back from double digits with practice squad wideouts, three of the four top corners out, a banged up QB and RB, and other injured players to beat the Green Bay Packers 27-22 in the London Game.

This game came down to good coaching and grit. This Giants team has a fight in them that I haven't seen in so, so long. It's a beautiful thing.

My latest pickup is of a player I am hoping that can only add to this team, if he can ever get on the field healthy.

Kadarius Toney was a first-round pick by the Giants last year and has spent most of his time hurt. At this point, I don't see him on the roster next year.

But, they could surprise me, like the team has this year.
I picked up this patch card not because it was Toney, but because it was a nice-looking patch card for $1.75.

2-0

Well....well...well.

For the first time in 6 years, the NY Giants are starting the season 2-0 with back-to-back close wins. These were games they normally would lose but with the new coaching staff have found ways to win.

Yesterday's 19-16 win over the Panthers had the similar look to their first game. Sloppy first half of offense that led to a stronger second half on offense. I am not sure what Coach Daboll says to them at halftime, but I hope it continues.

There weren't really any standout players other than kicker Graham Gano, who I don't have any cards of, so thought I would show off some recent Kadarius Toney cards.

These were tossed into a recent trade mail day I had.
2021 Chronicles Absolute

2021 Prizm Orange bubbles?

2021 Chronicles Gridiron Kings

2021 Prizm Rookie Variation

I do wish the Giants would get Toney more involved into the offense. I still feel he is being underutilized. Get the ball into his hands, give him a little space and some magic could happen.

Thoughts on the Giants start, Toney or today's cards welcomed in comments.

A Mosaic Addition!

It's a dreary Monday both in weather form and the fact that it's Monday, but on Big Blue Cardboard, I am trying to brighten things up some.

In a shiny way of course.

I was in trade talks with someone for my very first Kadarius Toney Mosaic card and the trade talks fell through as I didn't have quite what the trader needed. However, this wasn't the end of me landing the Toney. Being the kindhearted person @lordremix876 was, he ended up sending me the Toney along with a few friends as well.
Here is the Toney, it's the NFL Debut subset and a silver Prizm. These look so sharp in person!

Mosaic Camo Pink of Giants legend Tiki Barber.

Andrew Thomas Optic silver. Thomas is still the anchor and the best player on the Gmen's offensive line. I hope he can continue his growth this year, Daniel Jones needs it.

Speaking of Daniel Jones, a pink camo Mosaic of him. This is a big break or make year for Jones under the new regime. He has got to show something or he will be gone.

Thanks again to @lordremix876 for the newest additions. It made my week.

Thoughts on these additions or the players welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Red Kadarius Toney

Welcome back to another Playoff Rookie Wave mail day of Kadarius Toney!

Hopefully by now you are not bored with these.

Today's colored parallel took a while to arrive as I am not sure if the seller took forever to ship or is USPS took forever to get it to me. It made me nervous for a little while but it's in hand and all good now.
So here is the red which matches parts of the Giants away uniform. Looks really sharp. You can tell the differences in parallels for these by looking at the sand color.

Back of the card as well which also tells us it's a Prizm parallel.

So far, I have the following, Base, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

Here they are all together, and yes, I forgot to showcase the blue on here, but check it out below.
Don't tell me you don't think these look cool whether you are a Giants fan or not.

I actually have at least one more on it's way and more updates to come. If you see any of these I don't have, please let me know. I am hoping for the rainbow, but I never get my hopes up for that.

Thoughts on today's addition and my rainbow beginning is welcomed in comments!

Toney And Salsa

A couple of weeks ago, I had three solid football numbered cards up for trade on Twitter looking for something for my collection in return. I was looking for Big Blue or non-sport.

It took a few days, and a few offers before one of the cards caught someone's eye and before what they had in return caught my eye.

@flickavic, a Washington Commanders fan (feels weird writing that out for the first time), saw my 2021 Illusions King Of Cards /149 red of Sean Taylor and knew he had to have it for his Washington collection. He also knew he had to get rid of some of his Giants cards since they were a hated rival which was a win/win both of us.

The three Kadarius Toney's in this trade I already have multiple copies of, but I was okay with that.
Base Card from Prizm Draft

Crusade subset from Prizm Draft

Score rookie

Becuase this final card was the one I had my eye on the most.

2014 Topps Triple Theads Patch relic /36 to the words of SALSA of Victor Cruz. The L is the actual patch swatch on the card while the rest is plain jersey. If anyone remembers Cruz, Salsa was the dance he would perform in the endzone after every touchdown he scored.

I always thought the relics that were designed like this were the best instead of a square. I can't wait to see what Fanatics does with Topps football when the time comes and if they bring back a brand like TTT.

Thanks to @flickavic for the trade. Hope we can do this again.

Thoughts on my mail day welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Silver Kadarius Toney

10 Days ago, I posted how I fell in love with this year's 2021 Playoff Rookie Wave and how I was going to chase what I could of them especially in Kadarius Toney form.

Well, today is my latest add to my chase with a few others on their way as I type this. Unless USPS loses it.

The one today I am posting is what I consider the first parallel in the series with a silver. I think the parallels for this set make the design stand out even more.

Back of the card. The only difference between this back and the base back is the word Prizm printed on top of Panini.

So far, I have the following, Base, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

I will continue to update this chase as I go.

Thoughts on today's card is welcomed in comments!

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Purple Kadarius Toney

Most of today's inserts are very lame in terms of design. I know most of you will agree, especially if you collected as I did in the 90's. There is no comparison.

However, there are moments that today's inserts will shine through and catch my attention. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

The Rookie Wave inserts in this year's Playoff football did just that.

I pulled my first Rookie Wave insert in a blaster box of Playoff, after seeing how great the card looked, I went to look and see if any NY Giants were on the checklist and that's when I found out Kadarius Toney was. I knew right there that I needed it.

Upon further research, I found out that the Rookie Waves also came with the following parallels,
Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1. I told myself no more rainbow chases since I can't ever complete it, but here I am today chasing what I can of this card.

This is the purple parallel from the set. You can tell by the purple beach color.

Back of the card is not bad either.

I have a few more of these coming in and will post them all once they are in hand.

For now, your thoughts on this latest add welcomed in comments.

2021 Playoff Adds

The closest the Giants have gotten to the Playoffs in the last six years comes via Panini's Playoff football brand.

Just like with every product, I try my best to add at least one of each card to my collection. I am not a duplicate collector unless it's a specific card.

I am still missing a couple base cards from this product, hopefully will add those soon. Here is what I accumulated so far,

Daniel Jones base

Saquon Barkley Base Card

Kadarius Toney Rookie Card base.

Aaron Robinson Kickoff Parallel. I don't have many cards of Robinson.

I am missing Golladay, LT and Slayton for base. Along with many inserts and parallels.

If you have any that I missing, let me know.
