Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Chrome Camo Wave

It's Saturday!

Time for another Rodney's Cardboard!

I still have a few of these in drafts so I should be able to cover up until the regular season kicks off with these posts.

After that, maybe I will need to find a replacement as I haven't been adding any new Rodney's recently.

But there is a new one to show off today.

When I got the checklist for the 2024 Topps Chrome Rodney Hamptons, I saw there was a Camo Wave refractor on it. These were supposedly numbered to 25. Upon getting the card in hand, come to find out, they are not. So, it makes me wonder if these are SSP and that there are only 25 total made. I haven't seen many listed so it could be the case. I just wanted to make sure I had this one secured just in case.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday. More Rodney's Cardboard on the way.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire

Welcome back to another NEW Rodney's Cardboard!

I know the last few weeks I have bounced around everywhere with my additions, but I am doing that for you. I don't want you to have to stare at the same kind of parallel or new card every week.

This week we are taking a look at what I call the Topps Chrome spinoff in Sapphire. So, not only do I have 30+ Rodney's to chase in base Chrome, I also have Sapphire and it's seven parallels.

CRAZY!

I will admit that the Sapphire does look a lot cooler with the parallels than the base Chrome series after seeing a few pop up. I did however miss out on the 1/1 even though a buddy of mine had his eye on it.

Here's hoping that one pops up again, but in the meantime I will continue to add what I can.

Eli Countdown To 1K: 960,961 (A BIG ONE INCLUDED)

I don't want to waste any time with today's Eli Manning countdown because today's included a banger. A card I have dreamed about for quite some time.

Ladies and gentleman, 19 years later....I finally own...

a 2004 Topps Chrome Eli Manning!!!!! Eli number 960. Anybody who has followed me for quite some time knows this card has been one I have been chasing for years. I couldn't ever afford one, nobody seemed to ever have one for trade and it just felt this card was eluding me.

Not anymore!! Thanks to @CardsThings on Twitter for helping me finally land this in our trade.

Also included in our trade,
961:2004 Bowman 1st Edition

And one more card,

2013 Prizm Purple Cracked Ice Victor Cruz. A new Cruz to help me extend my big lead already on TCDB.

It was a quick, easy and fun trade and I suggest if you are ever looking for someone easy to deal with, check out @CardsThings.

I can't explain my excitement to be able to hold this card in person. My goal was to find a way to make this card #1,000 but it came before then. I will have to find another card to celebrate the big milestone when the time comes.

More Eli's coming up, and no before you ask, I haven't gotten to 1,000 yet.

Eli Countdown To 1K: 952,953

To finish up my last post and trade with @_AustinFinley_., I have to show these Eli's off in a separate post so I can continue the countdown to 1k series.

Card #952 is a 2007 Topps Chrome refractor.

Card #953 is a 2022 Select Red Lazer Parallel. College uniform which isn't my favorite thing in the world, but it's still a new Eli.

Thanks again to @_AustinFinley_ for the trade! Hope we can do another sometime.

More Eli updates to come as I am driving towards my next goal.

2008 Topps Chrome David Tyree Chase

I have many searches on eBay, some are for higher end material, some for in-between and some that many people don't think twice about.

David Tyree fits that final part.

One of my favorite David Tyree cards is the 2008 Topps Chrome that features the greatest play in Super Bowl history and I have been chasing it and the parallels from it ever since I saw it.
Recently I was finally able to add to it when this X-Factor popped up for under $3. Most of the X-Factors are listed on eBay for $12 each so I let them sit there in hopes for a cheaper deal. My cheaper deal arrived and paid off.

This one now goes with the rest of these,
Base

Refractor

Copper

Blue

And all of them together right now,

Nice!! Right?

There are still plenty of parallels to chase of this card but once again I will wait for the actual deals before I would ever jump.

If you have one I don't, let's talk trade at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Thoughts on this chase and what play you consider the greatest play in Super Bowl history in comments below!

Kerry's Cardboard:2003 Topps Chrome Black Refractor

It's that time of week again, it's time for a new Kerry's Cardboard.

On this blog, only Kerry featured in Giants uniform are welcomed. All others I don't post....at least on here. I have been grabbing other cheap ones on and off.

Today, for $1.50 I was able to land another newbie for the PC. It's shiny and numbered.
2003 Topps Chrome black refractor you can define by its black border.

And the numbering to 599 on the back.

This card is another example of why we need Topps Chrome back in our football collecting lives.

Let me know your thoughts on my latest add in comments.

Shane's Big Blue Mail Day

My latest trade with Shane from Cheap Wax Wednesday fame, brought me a variety of cards from multiple sports and non-sports even.

This part I am showing off for this post is all blue. There will be no other cards shown off on here.

This is Big Blue Country.
First up, Tiki Barber Throwback Threads numbered parallel.

Rookies and Stars Cross Training of Hakeem Nicks.

Team match border parallel of Mario Manningham who made that incredible catch in Super Bowl 46.

Brandon Jacobs Topps Unique.

Davis Webb Rookie Rising...or should it be veteran rising. Will be interesting if he plays this Sunday.

Another Manningham, this time a black parallel from Longevity.

Jamaar Taylor rookie cards.

Purple numbered parallels of Ahmad Bradshaw and Marvin Austin.

Willie Ponder rookie from 2003 Playoff Honors.

A few more numbered cards including Corey Webster and Steve Smith.

There were a few others I didn't show off because I will need to check to see if they were doubles or not, but I do know the next ones are real.
Jeremy Shockey Topps Draft Picks jersey

And finally,
A rookie Absolute RPS of Jeremy Shockey featuring a jersey and football RPS swatches.

Some really nice adds to my collection in this mail day. Thanks again to Shane for the trade.

Thoughts on my mail day welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2008 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor David Tyree

What can I say, I am addicted to showing off and adding Super Bowl cards from Super Bowls 42 and 46.

I have actually found myself liking one card in particular.

The 2008 Super Bowl 42 subset card of David Tyree shows off the same image we have seen over and over and over again.

But Topps Chrome just makes it look better. Especially when it's a team color refractor match.

Here is the back of the card.

I have actually made somewhat of a small run on these. I have the base, base refractor, bronze and now this one. I would love to add the Xfactor on eBay next.

Thoughts on my latest add and Topps Chrome refractors welcomed in comments.

Eli's Cardboard:2015 Topps Chrome Super Bowl 50 Die-Cut Pulsar Refractor

You ever just have a card sit in your watchlist on eBay for so long you felt like you had to buy it?

I did just that recently.

Today's Eli's Cardboard card had been in my watchlist at least a year. I watched the seller put offers out on it every few months and I just continued to pass on it.

But there it sat.

And sat....

And sat....

Looking and tempting me every time I scrolled through my watchlist.

Until I finally had a gift card to use up and the seller once again put out an offer on it. I was afraid if I didn't take it this time, I wasn't ever going to. So I accepted the offer and it came home.
There is a base version, a refractor version /99, a Superfractor 1/1 and this Pulsar refractor numbered to 50. I only own this version so far. I don't expect to ever find or land the Super of this card, so this isn't even a tempting rainbow chase.

Back of the card discusses Eli and his two Super Bowl runs against the Patriots.

Thoughts on my card today and whether you have ever bought a card after watching it for so long welcomed in comments.
