The Latest Hyatts

With so much QB uncertainty in New York in the 2023 season, the rookie Wide Receiver the Giants were high up on didn't quite have a chance to show all of his talents as he finished with 23 catches for 373 yards and 0 touchdowns.

It was disappointing, but that doesn't mean he won't next year.

In the meantime, I will soak up all of his rookies in anticipation that next year will be a bigger year.

At Christmas time I was gifted this one from my buddy Rick on Twitter. I am not sure what parallel this is, but it's numbered to 24.

Up next, a two-card mail day from another Twitter friend, @ErichWalter

Donruss Optic Silver

And a stinkin' autograph!!!! My first Hyatt autograph in a Giants uniform.

Then came a few cheap pickups that I used up my eBay gift card from Christmas on. If you are ever looking to get me a gift, nothing says gift to me than an eBay gift card.
Blue Scope. Team color match and it's sharp!

Metal Hyatt autograph. Card looks nice despite lack of logos.

And finally, another Hyatt auto. This one is from Super Glow.

Not a bad start to my very small Jalin Hyatt PC. I am trying hard not to load up too much as I learned a lesson from Kadarius Toney about doing things like that.

Here's to a better 2024 for Hyatt and for the Giants.

Rising

Don't look now, but the NY Giants have won two games in a row after their thrilling 10-7 defeat of the Patriots on Sunday. I don't call it thrilling because of the game play by both teams, it was thrilling because it came down to a missed field goal by the Patriots at the end that would have sent the game into overtime.

With the Vikings loss last night, it only puts the 4-8 Giants two games out of the wildcard spots with five games left. However, two of those five games are against the Eagles.

That could be ugly.

With the team possibly on the rise, there was also a player that is on the rise that can get them where they need to go as well.

Jalin Hyatt finally showed why the Giants drafted him in the third round and why they were considering him a number one guy.

Hyatt made some eye-catching grabs and reeled in 5 of them for 109 yards. His first 100-yard game of his career and that's with an undrafted rookie QB.

Yesterday I got a mail day from my Twitter friend @ErichWalter that included some new Hyatts for my collection since I barely have any.

Chronicles Draft Revolution

Mosaic Base

Mosiac Mosiac Silver

Gold Standard /99

Not sure what this parallel is called from Mosaic, but it's /80

Thanks again to Eric for the mail day!!

Well, I won't be able to watch the Giants since they are on a bye this week, but I will be certainly rooting against the teams ahead of them in the wild card chase.

Then I will be ready the following Monday night when they take on the Packers. They haven't won a Prime Time game in so long I think it's time.

Finally Landed Him!

Every year after the draft, I try to land an autograph of every Giants rookie to add to my collection. Last year it took me the full season but I was able to pull most off all but one. Which that one shouldn't be too hard to land despite his great season so far this year.

However, in the 2023 draft, the season is halfway over and so far I have only added one of their picks which was Deonte Banks, their first-round corner and that was only recently.

The one I have been wanting the most was their fast WR in the third round in Jalin Hyatt. I have been watching his cards for months and months and months stay at $40 or so average. I felt that was a little too steep especially for a guy that hasn't made much of an impact or much of an opportunity to do so with poor quarterback play. He also doesn't seem to be on the field much.

I guess a few days ago my patience finally paid off as I not only finally landed a Hyatt auto, but also landed Eric Gray's who is the Giants backup running back they drafted in the fifth round.

The card is from Leaf Vivid and is numbered to 5/8 and looks beautiful. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't feature the players in their big blue. That's the problem with buying non-NFL licensed cards. But, it's at least an autograph for now. I can always upgrade later.

There are still others from this year's draft I need to land and add to my want list for Giants autographs. I will hopefully add that tab back sometime on here.

In the meantime, I am keeping my eyes open for the next addition.

Mosaic 2023 Adds

With my current financial situation, I am not expecting to be able to buy much 2023 football products.

Which means I will need to find other ways to add NY Giants cards to my collection which usually means trading.

I recently spied a card from a Twitter post I felt I needed so I inquired about doing a trade with @fastlanecards and he was on board.

On his end, he received some Detroit sports and I recieved the following,
Saquon Mosaic Mosaic silver parallel.

Mosaic Audible silver insert of Saquon Barkley.

And here is the card that caught my eye, a color match blue reactive of Jalin Hyatt. I wished the Giants would get this guy going more.

And finally, a Jalin Hyatt NFL Debut Mosaic subset card.

I already have a ton of needs from last year for the Giants and it appears the list for this year will be even longer, so I am always open for more trades.

Thanks again to @fastlanecards for the trade.

My First Hyatt Giant!

It's not an autograph, but it's my first Jalin Hyatt featured in Giants blue. I am very excited about this addition but aiming for an autograph next or a real rookie featuring him in a Giants uniform since Score didn't have him in one this year. I am not sure about Prestige yet. I am counting down until there are more Giant releases with him in it.

Thoughts on my latest add welcomed in comments.
