Rodney's Cardboard: 2024 Topps Finest Gold Refractor Autograph/50

The NY Giants put on a good show for their fans this preseason, hopefully it will also translate to the regular season.

I guess we will see in two weeks.

In the meantime, I will keep sharing some new Rodney's.

And here is the latest.

This one is pretty similar to last week's,  except it doesn't have little gold squares and is instead just straight up gold.

Still a good looking card for not having logos.

Thoughts on your team's preseason or on this card welcomed in comments today!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Finest Gold Geometric Refractor Autograph

Another Sunday, another Rodney.

Today we are looking at a 2024 Topps Finest Gold Geometric refractor autograph.

These cards are numbered to 50.  There is a plain gold version numbered to 50 as well and I will be showing off that one next week.

This time I didn't mind that they did two gold ones unlike the blue ones. The gold versions have a regular and a "shaped" version so you can tell them apart. I am not sure why they didn't do that with the blue.

Anyways, before that rant goes on, hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Go Gmen!

Post #200: New Eli Mannings Added and Updated

I haven't had a lot of time for cards recently with life taking over, but I finally sat down and did a project I have been needing to get done.

I have finally updated my Eli Manning Trading Card Database count to celebrate the 200th post on this blog.

So, currently I have.....sorry you will have to check out the photos of my latest pickups first before I announce where I stand in the chase of Eli....

(a 1/1 plate I traded for on Twitter)

(TCDB doesn't list these anywhere so it doesn't count as apart of my number)

And the total I am at is...drumroll....1,171!

This puts me 323 away from taking the overall lead on TCDB. This goal was once close to 800 away. The last two years I have chipped away, closing the gap. I am also not sure if the top guy has been active on TCDB anymore. He may have even more that he hasn't added yet, but I guess that doesn't matter to me. I want that lead!

Eli always had a fourth quarter comeback in him, it's my turn now.

I just want to take a minute out to thank everyone who has read this blog. Without you, today's milestone wouldn't have happened. Thank you!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Finest Blue Geometic Autograph /99

Another week, another new Rodney for you to see!

This week's autograph showoff is from 2024 Topps Finest.

2024 Topps Finest is a tad frustrating as some of the parallels look similar. So, trying to tell the difference between a Blue Checkerboard and a Blue Geometric is going to need a scientific explanation by an actual scientist. They are also numbered the same!!

Why do they have to make two blue parallels similar? If you are going to need to do two blues for whatever reason, do a regular blue and then a funky one as well.

So, this is my guess, this a blue geometric autograph. If I am wrong and you know the difference, please let me know in comments.

There will be plenty of Rodney coming up, mostly from new products, but I did land a rare 90's one I have never seen pop up before and I can't wait to show it off.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Let me know your thoughts on these parallels in comments.

The 2025 Season Is Underway!

It may only be preseason, but, the NY Giants hit the football field and came out victorious with a 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills.

It was a great game with some great plays and made me pumped for the upcoming season.

The Giants started the game with some of its starters including QB Russell Wilson and RB Tyrone Tracy who ran the ball for 9 yards on 3 carries and caught two other balls for seven yards.

I recently picked up two Tracy autographs for my collection. The top one, despite the no-logo look from Leaf, is a cool snakeskin design while the second one from 2025 Score caught my attention because of the throwback jerseys.

I am hoping he can match the season he had last year, his rookie year, where he piled up over 1100 scrimmage yards.

Overall, I was happy with the team's overall performance today. The starting offense moved the ball, Jaxson Dart looks like the future, and the defense played fast and aggressive. I know it's just preseason, there is a long way to go, but the 2025 football season is underway!

The Blogger National 2025

The last three years I have posted a Blogger National for those of us who can't enjoy the experience of actually being at the The National Sport Collectors Convention. That way we can still connect with one another without spending the big bucks to do so. Though I would love to sit down, have a cup of coffee and talk cards with you.

I am right on time with posting this year's Blogger National, so I am hoping you all will participate in this blog bat-around.

What is the Blogger National? Well, it's a blog-bat-around where you just take one post (or multiple if you so choose) in the next few days and dedicate it to showing off your coolest cards or your most favorite cards or a recent mail day you hadn't posted yet using the blog post title, The Blogger National 2025.

I want you to try to find the cards that are show worthy to you. You know, the dazzling cards that would attract all of the people over to your table (blog).

For example, I am showing the other cards in my trade with @90sNicheFBcard. The other cards I showed off in a post HERE on Cards Over Coffee.

Come check out my NY Giants table,

Some really nice, a couple on-card autographs of  Super Bowl champion Victor Cruz. He will go down as one of my favorite WR's. If the injury bug hadn't hit him, he may have been a legend.

They don't make cards like they used to. I believe I have stated this before... many times. This includes autograph cards.

Numbered LT.

Yes, the amount of Prizm parallels is absurd, but the look cool so I am good with it.

Malik is about to ball out this year with an actual QB. He may have a season reminiscent to Odell if not better.

A couple nice die-cut shiny! Gray won't be a Giant much longer, but Banks has a chance still. He has struggled in camp so far, so hopefully he has time to turn it around.

If they do this jersey card again this year, obviously Abdul Carter would be on it. Hopefully Kayvon will do more this year. Will he ever be LT? Probably not. But, he can try to be like other Giant legends.

Tommy Devito was the man for a while in NY, now he is 4th on the depth chart and most likely will not make the team. Practice squad maybe or will some other team claim him. Time will tell. But, it was a fun ride while it was there.

I was a bit surprised when Sterling came out of retirement to play for Tampa Bay. I thought he would end his career as a Giant. It was great to see him in uniform again and play at a decent level, but he will always be a Giant to me.

If you thought this alone was a great trade, now, here comes the onslaught of Eli's.
This parallel is /199

I did have this one, but its sharp and team color, so I don't mind having two.

Eli on Eagles colors is okay here. Looks sharp and he always beat on them.

This...this card was my favorite of the entire trade. Super Bowl. Game Worn. Eli. Champions.

Thanks again for the trade Bryan!

I am hopeful many of you will join in on this. Usually my Blog-Bat-Arounds go nowhere but maybe this one will catch your attention. Last year was no to very little turnout but I am trying again!

And for those of you who read this and don't have a blog, feel free to post your cards on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Bluesky, YouTube,) and use the hashtag (and tag me if you want), #TheBloggerNational2025. I will be on the lookout for that hashtag on all social media platforms. Well, except TikTok. I haven't joined that at all yet and don't plan to.

Hope everyone has a great time with this, and you can leave your blog link in comments so I can read it as well!
